Today’s devotional was a video explaining the books of the prophets Isaiah and mostly Jeremiah. It explained how Isaiah spoke for us to have faith(confidence) in God and he will be with us always. And 1000 years later, Jeremiah explained the difference between saying you are faithful verses actually being faithful and living right for God. A lot of people thought they were right by just saying they were serving God, but their actions did not match up. That’s why God let their enemies(Babylonians) over throw them.
I am certainly guilty of this act!!!-__- For years I would declare being a Christian, but my life actions would not match up to such. I most certainly not being a good example to others either. So when things fell apart and I asked God where he was, I didn’t know the answer, because I was not reallg living for him, therefore had no real relationship with him.
Dont repeat Israel’ s past nor my own, because it took them defeat and captivity to learn their lesson and took me the case of losing almost everything to learn to change my ways. Ask yourself the questions below that the devotional provided and choose your future wisely. Love you guys n girls, God bless!!:)
1. The message of the prophets is a reminder that rejecting the will of God has consequences. How have you walked away from the will of God? How has it negatively impacted your life?
2. Jeremiah reminds us that our faith is not made up of just what we believe, but also of what we do. In your life, where have you possessed a false faith? What positive steps can you take to align your actions with your beliefs?
3. The prophet, Jeremiah, suffered from declaring the will of God to his own people. Do you sometimes reject the will of God by rejecting the person challenging your actions and behaviors? If so, why do you reject their correction?
4. The prophets were called to correct and deliver judgment to the people they loved. If God called you to play a similar role of correction, how can you make sure you do so in an affirming and restorative way?
